Do I miss home? Yes. And I'd give anything to be there right now. I miss that feeling that "home" gives you. Do you know what I mean?
It's that feeling you get driving down that street right before you turn onto your block. Or going to the local ice cream store you've been going to since you could taste and making conversation with the owners who always know what you want no matter how long you've been gone.
It's knowing that just because I didn't see Kirk today that it's ok because I can just drive to his house tomorrow and bring him dinner.
It's not being surrounded in an unfamiliar environment going to Target and Starbucks because it's the only familiar thing within 100 miles. Or your neighborhood ice-cream store is the cold stone in Times Square.
And It's not praying that I will make enough money this month so that I can maybe afford a trip home to see Kirk 3000 miles away and having to wait days at a time to have a real conversation with him because we're both so busy.
While I have to appreciate being in a real land of opportunity, it is a shame that I have to learn the hard way that distance does make the heart grow fonder and that home really is where the heart is.

Sleepless life
The day after the longest day of my life and I'm still tired.
I don't know how people with insomnia do it. New York really is the city that never sleeps and I'm the girl who always wants too. But this place really doesn't allow it.
Not only will you get shunned at by the people for walking around without bags under your eyes, but you can feel the city start to hate you even more.
If you're going to try to fit in my advice...buy a good cover up, even if you're a guy!
Otherwise be like me and don't make friends who need help moving and never go out past 10pm if you plan on taking the subway home, otherwise you won't be coming home that night andyou may as well forfiet the rest of your day.
